Grasping the Divide

The painting is divided—blue on one side, red on the other. Above them, a seam of darkness opens; from it, a set of hands reaches down towards the figures in both color fields. The composition avoids a single center; each half claims attention, yet the darkest area with the hands is the most active. The hands don’t choose a side—they try to seize indiscriminately. The image frames division is the space where control takes hold.
