Self Portrait

This is a painting of me eating a bento at a Japanese restaurant. The scene is ordinary on purpose: a meal that asks nothing except to be enjoyed together. The restaurant’s warm light gathers our faces; conversation overlaps with the soft clatter of chopsticks.
