Reflections of Home

A field of blue water fills the foreground; across it, a small building rests at the far edge of view. I painted it from memory because my grandfather lives there; it feels like a second home beyond the United States. The building, held apart by the wide blue expanse, carries years of longing—seasons I missed. I set my grandfather’s home in the distance as a small anchor that pulls me back to who I am.
